We’re thrilled to share that Roxy Wraps and our founder, Katrina Aleksa, have been featured in Forbes, in an inspiring article that explores the power of emotional gifting and the artistry behind presentation.
Unpacking Luxury Gifting And Personal Shopping
No one understands meaningful gifting better than Katrina Aleksa, a London-based personal shopper and luxury gift wrapper who charges £300 an hour to source, design and present the most exclusive gifts for ultra-high-net-worth clients. From rare vintage watches to bespoke one-of-a-kind creations, Katrina's job is to ensure every gift resonates far beyond its price tag.
"I trade in two luxuries: truth of taste and time," she explains. “Busy clients rely on me to procure the fine, personal, and purpose-filled details that elevate every gesture.”
Her approach is intensely personal.
"Most of the time, I am the one coming up with the ideas and it's about being intentional. I've been asked to find things that aren't even on the market anymore, items so rare or exclusive that they seem unattainable. But if it exists, I'll find it. And if it doesn't, I'll have it made."
In luxury gifting, exclusivity may be expected, but intimacy is what makes a gift unforgettable. Katrina once sourced a discontinued fragrance simply because it was the scent a client’s wife wore when they first met. On paper, it wasn’t the most extravagant gift in terms of price, but the emotional weight behind it made it priceless.
The Gift Before The Gift
For Katrina, presentation is just as important as the gift itself. With a background in art, she creates custom wrapping designs that are as luxurious as what’s inside, whether it's hand-bound stationery marked with an inside joke or a perfume that transports someone back in time.
"I'm currently designing a new wrapping paper inspired by a family newspaper," she shares. “Instead of headlines about the world, it tells the story of a family's own milestones over the year, including birthdays, holidays, proud achievements, and family moments.”
The magic, she says, lies in gathering these stories and translating them into something tangible.
"So that when a gift is wrapped it already carries the narrative of the people it's meant for. At its heart, it's not just paper, it's a family archive designed to make even the act of unwrapping feel like reliving the year together."
